On-line supermarkets distributing fresh and frozen food have an interesting challenge to solve during the last mile distribution. One of most interesting on-line supermarket in Spain contacted us to help them to solve their last mile delivery of fresh and frozen food. They were delivering usual products, with fresh and frozen food. Nevertheless they were having some cold chain issues related with frozen food, that was being delivered at normal temperature after some hours of deliveries, complete unfrozen and not at -18ºC, as it should be.
30% of the our frozen food deliveries are happening after two hours of deliveries. Our fresh and frozen food needs to be delivered at the right temperature and quality without breaking any cold chain.
This on-line supermarket needed a system than enable them to monitor and control the temperature and humidity in real-time inside their trucks without complex installations, long batteries and working inside a truck at -20ºC.
